Today marks the last day at AutoTalk for journalist Robert Barry, a familiar and respected figure in the automotive industry.

Barry has been part of the automotive media for over two decades. He has spent close to one-half of that time within the Auto Media Group.
His work has included many in-depth interviews and stories that have appeared across multiple magazines and websites.
Beyond his editorial role, Barry has played an important role in the New Zealand Motoring Writers Guild. There he has served as both secretary and more recently as president.
He has represented the Guild numerous times on television, handing over multiple New Zealand Car of the Year trophies on behalf of his peers.
Barry has never been one to shy away from new concepts, recently hosting videos for sister website NZ Autocar. Colleagues say his willingness to assist with everything from logistics to story leads has always been an asset. And so too his enthusiasm and attention to detail, though with one notable lapse; he managed to misplace a car for a week in a downtown carpark.
Barry is not leaving the automotive trade entirely. In his new role, he is joining a North Shore-based dealership to learn the fine art of selling European cars.
