Kiwis and Aussies have another chance to own a piece of two-wheel racing history in the form of the second-generation KTM RC 8C. KTM Australia has secured a limited number of its track-only machines. They’re available to order in Australia and New Zealand now.

This is the first time since late 2022 that the track specials are on sale. Just 200 are being produced globally in the matte black colour variant, 10 of these earmarked for Antipodeans.

The KTM RC 8C is co-engineered in partnership with Krämer Motorcycles. Fitted with high-end racing componentry, an enhanced LC8c production engine powers the latest RC 8C and it features a new titanium Akrapovic exhaust system. The bike is purpose-built for the racetrack. Its performance can be measured through a revamped dashboard with GPS data-logger and lap timer.

The race machine features advanced aerodynamics, and an additional 5kW for the twin-cam 890cc parallel twin engine, thanks in part to the use of titanium components. Its maximum power of 101kW chimes in at 11,000rpm. Peak torque of 98Nm arrives at 8250rpm. Upgrades to electronics include multiple traction control settings, different engine maps for variable throttle response, adjustable engine braking and a reverse Quickshifter. There’s also launch control and an anti-wheelie mechanism.

Additional weight savings mean the RC 8C scales up at 142kg.

Suspension is by White Power, with WP Apex Pro forks and shock dialled in for a mix of comfort and confidence. Tyres are Pirelli Diablo Race items. The orange coloured frame is a chromoly steel item. There’s full suspension adjustability, and even steering head angle is variable for optimised feel and stability at track pace.

RC 8C is made for elbow down stuff like this.

Brakes are Brembo Stylemas paired with an RCS19 Corsa Corta master cylinder. Racing items include rims, chain, carbon front fender, CNC triple clamp, handlebar switches, and an optimised air box and air filter. Parts prone to crash damage can be readily replaced.

Each bike comes with an itemised serial number stamped into the triple clamp. Contact your local KTM dealer to order the RC 8C.
