Kia names its price for the EV4 sedan

Kia New Zealand has officially launched the new EV4 ‘Fastback’ electric sedan. Its release comes soon after the 2025 World Car of the Year, the Kia EV3, debuted here.

Another winner of a design from Kia, in my view. Kind of EV6-esque in its dare-to-be- different approach.

Pricing for EV4 kicks off at $63,990 (+ORC) for the Light 2WD Long Range. The higher spec GT-Line 2WD Long Range will sell for $75,990 (+ORC).

“The Kia EV4 is…a unique addition to our impressive EV range” said Kia New Zealand’s MD, Todd McDonald.

“The fastback provides customers with the technology they expect from a Kia EV in a forward-thinking and expressive design.”

Kind of funcky rear end too.

This is the most aerodynamic Kia ever (0.23 Cd on Light 2WD model). It is the fifth dedicated full EV in the marque’s line-up.

EV4 also offers the greatest range of Kia’s full electrics. Expect up to 633km WLTP of non-stop travel for the Light 2WD LR.

“At the time of launching EV3, its range was and is, industry leading in New Zealand. Kia is tackling range anxiety head on and providing a solution.

Better in beige? The blue doesn't quite ping as well.

“The EV4 further builds off this range, showcasing our innovation as a brand”, said McDonald.

“Earlier this year, we proudly introduced the EV4 to New Zealand during our National EV Day, just weeks after its global debut.

“From that moment, it was clear we’re not compromising on our electric vehicle range. Our commitment remains strong: to deliver pure electric freedom our customers can rely on.”

Power and torque for the new Kia EV4 are 150kW and 283Nm, while battery capacity is 81.4kWh. A 10 to 80 per cent refill is possible in 31min when EV4 hooks up to a DC ultra-fast charger.

Another with a squared off wheel. Seats look plush.

Key features shared by the two new models include a fully digital 29.6-inch panoramic display, Kia’s latest suspension technology, Kia Connect functionality, over-the-air updates and e-Call access plus exterior and interior V2L capabilities.

Kia’s Advanced Driver Assistance Systems are also included, helping to keep all occupants safe during EV4 outings.

The Light 2WD Long Range includes Forward Collision Warning, Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Follow Assist, and Smart Cruise Control with Stop and Go. There’s also a Rear View Monitor with Dynamic Guidelines, and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Lots of stretch space back here.

Moving up to the GT-Line 2WD Long Range, it adds a full-colour Head-Up Display, Harmon Kardon premium sound system, heated and ventilated front seats, heated steering wheel, power sunroof with one touch tilt and slide, a powered tailgate, wireless phone charging and exclusive 19-inch alloy wheels.

EV4 “offers an innovative design, comfort, refinement and an unheralded range with practicality and versatility.

“Kia is redefining confidence in the EV market here in New Zealand and we’re certain the EV4 will surprise many people,” McDonald concluded.

Wish it was in my garage.
