Kia EV3 GT caught testing

Words NZ Autocar | Images AutoExpress

July 27, 2025

A hot Kia EV3 GT isn’t far away. Spy shots show a heavily camouflaged prototype out testing that is either the EV3 GT or a new SUV. However, the former is considered more likely.

Heavy camouflage for this tester thought to be the Kia EV3 GT.

For Kia has always said that it would launch hot GT variants of all its electric EV-badged models. It therefore makes sense that the EV3 is next in line.

Under all the clobber, it would appear to have heavily revised bumpers, and GT-embossed sports seats in blue. It runs on beefy 20-inch wheels. The seats, which feature contrasting green stitching, are similar to those in the EV9 GT.

And a look from the rear.

Dual-motor layouts have already been confirmed for the EV3 range, though there are no details as yet on output. Given the EV6 GT makes around 450kW, then 300kW seems about right for the smaller model. Expect Kia’s virtual gear shift system to show up in the EV3 GT, given how popular it is in the Hyundai/Kia hot rods. It certainly adds vocal character to these electric models.

Kia will likely launch the EV3 GT within the next 12 months. It will be the first 400V e-GMP platform model to receive a high performance powertrain. Expect a hot EV4 GT to follow. Pricing is unclear at this point but here it will likely be close to six figures given the EV3 GT-Line is around $75k.

Another angle for a better look.
