A new iCar model is being teased. It is the firm’s largest yet, and will disrobe officially on August 1. The SUV will be sold in international markets under the iCaur brand.
The model, which has been seen in prototype testing form recently, looks set to continue iCar’s boxy styling. Its daytime running lights remind of LR units.
The V27 will rival the likes of Fangchengbao’s Tai 3 and its sister car, the Jetour T1 Shanhai.
iCaur is Chery’s fourth brand for the after Omoda, Jaecoo, and Chery itself. The new brand will debut early next year.
The V27 will likely sport both electric and extended-range EV (EREV) powertrains. Expect the latter to use Chery’s 1.5-litre engine and a battery in excess of 30kWh. That should give it an EV-only range of around 150-200km. Total driving range will be in excess of 1000km.
It is likely that the V27 will use a 185kW motor on the rear axle and a 150kW unit up front, like the V23 (below).

The teaser image reveals that the V27 has a boxy profile, wide C-pillar with the V27 logo, and a beefy bonnet with square sculpting and twin power domes. It is quite dissimilar to the retro look of the V23.
Other items include conventional door handles, running boards to aid entry, flared wheel arches, and chunky alloys. It also features distinctive retro-style daytime running lights.
Various iCar models are sold in international markets under the Jaecoo name. However, European and Australasian markets are expected to get the iCaur badge which is already confirmed for the UK.
