The first electric Ferrari, which may go under the title of Elettrica, will be a four-seater. It has begun real-world testing ahead of a launch scheduled for next year.

The tester seems to be virtually production ready. Ferrari has been tight-lipped about its first electric model, which was recently spotted around the brand’s headquarters in Maranello.
The EV was heavily camouflaged, though previous mules employed old Maserati Levante bodies. So this car, despite its shroud, is the first real indication of what the production car will look like.

It won’t be shown officially until Q2 of next year, as part of a three-step unveiling. This begins with the EV’s “technological heart”, according to CEO Benedetto Vigna. That likely means the firm will soon release details about the platform and powertrain.
Then, in the new year, Ferrari will show off the “look and feel of the interior” prior to the formal unveiling next year.

The CEO had previously gone on record as saying that the EV would be “a lot of fun”, which goes without saying.
Despite the disguise, the newcomer will be similar in size to the Purosangue V12 SUV. However, the shape will display vastly better aero.
Expect rear doors and seating for at least four passengers.

At the rear is a roof-mounted spoiler and exaggerated rear wheel arches.
Reports suggest a sticker price of around $US500,000, with deliveries beginning at the end of next year. Production will be out of the firm’s new ‘E-building’ at Maranello. The facility will eventually house production of all of Ferrari’s EV powertrains, including high-voltage batteries, electric motors and e-axles.
