He discovered a horror scene after finishing work. His precious was lying wrecked on a wet Mauranui Ave in Newmarket. A nearby Audi was also damaged but the offending vehicle was nowhere to be seen.
It appears that earlier in the day, the driver of a black Ferrari SF90 had lost control and plowed into the two parked cars.
The Ferrari SF90 costs around $1mn new. A spokesperson from Continental Cars that sold the vehicle said it would have been worth around $900,000 before the crash. He added that his company had nothing to do with the incident, despite its close proximity.
Police confirmed that a car had hit a parked car, which then struck another parked vehicle. The incident took place at 2.20pm last Saturday and no-one was injured.
The owner of the Civic said it was a much loved project car and a link to his 1990s childhood.
If there’s one small upside to the tale, the Civic was one of two he owned. He told Stuff he had another EG8 but still lamented the loss of the other one.
