Facelifted BMW 2 Series Coupé Due in Q4

A facelifted BMW 2 Series Coupe will arrive on the local scene in Q4 of this year. Pricing for the single variant, the top M240i xDrive, is set at $115,900. The previous version dotted down in Sep 2021.

Powering this wee fireball is a turbocharged 3.0L IL6 generating 285kW and 500Nm. The output is processed by an eight-speed automatic transmission. Apparently the M240i xDrive is capable of reaching 100km/h in 4.3sec.

Pick the new model by its exterior mirror caps that are finished in high-gloss black. There are also M high-gloss Shadow line exterior highlights. An M badge in the lower air intake marks the M240i xDrive as part of the BMW M family. 

There are new red and grey hues available, along with the Zandvoort Blue colour that was previously reserved for the M2. Also new are 19-inch double-spoke M light alloy wheels, available in either Jetblack or Bicolour finishes.

The interior adopts BMW’s latest Operating System 8.5 with QuickSelect. This simplifies control of air conditioning, and seat and steering wheel heating. There are now fewer buttons in the cabin while the instrument panel has undergone a redesign. Air vents are easier to adjust and include ambient “waterfall” lights. 

M Sport seats upholstered in ‘Vernasca’ leather are standard equipment, in a choice of two colours. Trim is available in a metallic or carbon finish, while certain items are available in “CraftedClarity” glass.

Aside from those items already mentioned, standard kit includes adaptive M suspension, an electric sunroof, Harmon/Kardon sounds, an M rear spoiler and Sport differential and M Sport seats. Other features include TPM, ACC with stop and go, comfort access, Driving and High beam assistants, M Sport Package, Parking Assistant Plus, and Qi charging.

All metallic paints are a $2000 cost option, while the two special paint finishes go for $5000. There’s a slew of 19-inch alloy options costing $2300 while the CF interior trim adds $1200.
