– 930kg, one-of-one road-legal GT that channels Jaguar’s greatest racers
British specialist, Eagle E-Types, has unveiled what it calls its most extreme creation yet; the Lightweight GTR. They call it a ‘bespoke, road-legal grand tourer’ that distills Jaguar’s racing DNA into a ‘modern masterpiece’.

Known globally for their well-engineered and detailed E-Type restorations, Eagle’s latest build is a one-off commission that takes inspiration from Jaguar’s original Lightweight E-Type racers of the 1960s. Eighteen were planned, but only twelve were ever built. This GTR aims to blend ‘race-car performance’ with ‘long-distance comfort and modern reliability’.

At a claimed 930kg dry, the Lightweight GTR is 30 per cent lighter than a standard E-Type roadster. The weight savings come from extensive use of aluminium, titanium, magnesium, Inconel, carbon fibre and even lithium components. Beneath the sculpted bonnet lies an all-aluminium 4.7-litre straight-six with a wide-angle head, titanium con-rods and triple Weber carburettors, delivering a power-to-weight ratio of over 430bhp per tonne.

Every component is said to be bespoke; magnesium transmission casings, Inconel-titanium exhaust, and carbon-ceramic brakes with servo-assisted AP Racing calipers. The suspension features revised geometry, titanium hubs, and adjustable Öhlins dampers tuned for both performance and comfort.

Inside, the Lightweight GTR takes on a race-car minimalist vibe. Black Alcantara, lightweight aluminium seats, and a floating binnacle of platinum switches with mother-of-pearl inlays set the tone. Heated glass, air conditioning, and discreet sound insulation make this featherweight supercar surprisingly usable.
The anonymous commissioning client described the GTR as “the antithesis of today’s oversized performance cars,” praising its purity, craftsmanship, and driver connection. Eagle’s design director Paul Brace called the project “a joy,” noting that it pushed the company “to the very limits of what’s possible.”
