Specification details have been published on the New Zealand website for Chinese state-owned automaker GAC’s upcoming vehicles.
While no information around pricing has been released, full specifications for both the all-electric AION V SUV and the plug-in hybrid M8 MPV are now available online. Few details are also available for the petrol-powered EMZOOM SUV.
Set to be the brand’s flagship model in New Zealand, the all-electric AION V benefits from 75KWh LFP battery. This powers a 150kW/210Nm motor on the front axle.

Its maximum range sits at 510km (WLTP), can charge at up to 180kW, and will take 22 minutes to be charged from 10 to 80 per cent.
The AION V will be introduced to the New Zealand market in two trim levels; Premium and Luxury.
Standard exterior equipment includes 19-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, and a panoramic sunroof. On the inside it gets a 14.6-inch infotainment screen with Apple Carplay, an 8.8-inch digital driver’s display, and wireless phone charging.
Adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, and lane-keeping assist is also included among the AIAN V’s safety suite.
Described as a “luxurious and comfortable seven-seat MPV”, details for the M8 plug-in hybrid are now also available.

Power primarily comes from a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, and with hybrid assistance it makes 274kW and 630Nm. Though no information has been shared regarding fuel economy or the M8’s electric range, it can reportedly be charged at both standard and fast rates.
Like the AION V, the M8 will also be introduced in two trim levels; the entry-level GL, and the range-topping GX.
Standard equipment on the M8 includes 18-inch alloy wheels, a 12.3-inch digital cluster, and a 10.1-inch infotainment display. Neither Apple Carplay or Android Auto connectivity is listed, but it does get a wireless phone charger.
As for safety, the M8 looks to benefit from the same active suite of assistance systems as the AIAN V.
Though limited, basic information has also been made available for the EMZOOM SUV. Unlike the other two vehicles in GAC’s local line-up, this small SUV will be exclusively petrol-powered, with a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine.

This engine is good for 145kW and 270Nm, which will likely be sent exclusively to the front wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
The EMZOOM also gets 18-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, an electric tailgate, and wireless phone charging capabilities.
As mentioned, no pricing information has been released regarding any of GAC’s vehicles in New Zealand. We can imagine that this will be revealed ahead of local deliveries commencing — which is targeted for January 2026.
