Citroen C5 Aircross facelifted and electrified, pricing released

The facelifted Citroen C5 Aircross is ready to hit New Zealand shores, bringing with it the brand’s first-ever electrified powertrain.

Two models are available with pricing now announced for both the petrol and new plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variant which offers a Clean Car Rebate of up to $5750.

First-ever electrified powertrain on offer

Under the bonnet of the updated model sits a new plug-in hybrid system that allows for up to 47km of driving range in fully electric mode.

When needed, its 1.6-litre four-cylinder petrol engine springs into life which sends drive through a two-wheel drive, automatic gearbox. Total power output combined with the hybird system comes to 165kW.

The same 1.6-litre PureTech petrol engine features in the non-hybrid C5 Aircross Shine model, producing 133kW.

Fresh face and interior

A new look now adorns the C5 Aircross with distinct new LED headlights delivering what Citroen says is a “robust, dynamic, and modern look.”

Changes have also made their way inside with the redesigned interior now featuring a configurable 12.3-inch instrument panel and new, central 10-inch infotainment touchscreen.

The central screen has been moved higher up on the dashboard and also acts as a gateway to driver-assistance systems like adaptive cruise control and the active lane departure warning.

New comfort seats have been padded with an extra 15mm of foam while the rear seats slide, recline and fold individually.

Pricing and availability

The new facelifted and electrified C5 Aircross is now available for test drives at Citroen dealerships across New Zealand while the PHEV will arrive from December.
