Chinese tuner has created a Suzuki Jimny convertible

Have you ever wondered what a Suzuki Jimny convertible would look like? Wonder no more as Chinese tuner YiChe Garage has cut the top off one.

The drop-top Jimny has a few similarities to its predecessors like the Suzuki LJ10 which was released from the factory without any roof at all. Later on, the Sierra was also offered as a convertible.

Now, we are introduced to a somewhat homemade take on the classic design. YiChe Garage’s example features a central roll hoop to protect its occupants but also lacks any form of cover at all.

The tuner had originally included a soft top with the vehicle but removed it after finding it wasn’t very functional.

Not only has the Jimny had its roof removed, it has also been given the face of the GWM Tank 300 as well as its tail lamps.

Custom fender flares have been fitted to house chunky all-terrain tyres and Rays Volk wheels.

The interior hasn’t gone untouched either having been given diamond stitched leather seats and door cards.

Considering the Jimny isn’t sold in China, it wasn’t cheap to perform the conversion. YiChe Garage had to import the 4×4 for a cost of $US60,000 while turning it into a drop-top cost another $US60,000. And that’s $207,000 in our money. Ouch.
