CFMOTO Updates its 450SR with New S Model

CFMOTO is launching the 450SR S, a refresh of its 450SR sports bike.

On track, in a tuck, going for it.

New items include adjustable 37mm inverted front forks, a single-sided swingarm, underslung exhaust, new winglets and a stronger rear brake.

The 37mm inverted front forks have adjustability of rebound and compression damping, meaning riders can tailor the ride quality to match their preferences.

Front brake duties are handled by an M40 Brembo radial-mount caliper, as before. The rear is now stronger with a dual-piston caliper and larger 240mm rear disc. It’s something we noted needed improving when we first rode the bike. So it’s good to see CF MOTO responds to customer feedback. Both feature ABS antiskid control.

The 450SR S features an exhaust outlet that is hidden and better integrated with the rear of the machine, creating a more aggressive and streamlined appearance.

On track, CF 450SR S cornering knee-down style.

Standard LED headlights are complemented by emergency braking lights for enhanced safety and improved overall aesthetics.

The 450SR S’s legible five-inch TFT display supports Bluetooth connectivity, while phone connectivity is possible through the CFMOTO RIDE app. It features over-the-air (OTA) upgrades, security and anti-theft functions, route recording, and real-time vehicle information.

Powering the new S is a tweaked version of the firm’s 450cc parallel twin. Power output is 35kW at 9259rpm (previously 10,000rpm) while peak torque of 39Nm arrives at 7750rpm.

New winglets and exhaust evident here.

The engine features a 270 degree crankshaft that mimics the sound and feel of a 90 degree V-twin, while also having good primary balance. Peak output is now produced slightly lower in the rev range, producing a more responsive ride. The exhaust note is also more characterful.

The 450SR S is covered by a two-year factory warranty and costs $9790 before on-roads. That’s $1000 more than the original, not bad considering the myriad updates.
