According to BMW, ‘track days are about to get a serious upgrade’. Well that’s if your track day weapon of choice is the BMW M2.
The Germans say that its M Performance Parts outfit is ‘developing a street legal track day package to deliver pure performance’ and that the ‘BMW M2 hits the Nürburgring, pushing BMW M Performance Parts to the limit’. We guess that means they are busing out there testing its new package.

The second-generation BMW M2 has been around for a couple of years while the firm introduced the CS version in May. You can also get an M2 Racing which BMW said at its reveal in April “will redefine the entry-level segment. The car is affordable while offering racing teams and drivers uncompromising performance, durability, and pure driving pleasure.”
For those that would prefer just to partake in a few track days rather than spend the whole weekend racing, it looks like this aero kit for the M2 might be the go.

The finer details of the street-legal Track Package are scant, and it won’t be offered until 2026.
But you can’t miss the rear wing, sitting right up high for maximum downforce. The front spoiler looks to be deeper, while the front apron might feature reworked intakes. It’s hard to pick with the camouflaged body work.
There could be some bits and pieces for the chassis too, maybe some stiffer springs, harder bushings, better brakes? Who knows, but more will likely be revealed when the package becomes available in 2026.
