Aston Martin unveils the Vanquish Volante
Aston Martin has pulled the wraps off its most powerful and fastest convertible yet—the Vanquish Volante. Packing a twin-turbo 5.2-litre V12 under its sculpted bonnet, the latest Volante produces a handy 614kW and 1000Nm of torque. That allows Aston to claim a 0-100km/h time of 3.4 seconds. It also boasts a ‘class-topping’ max speed of 345km/h, setting a new benchmark for open-air motoring. The new convertible is said to pay homage to 60 years of Volante production.
Engineering Prowess
The Vanquish Volante uses Aston Martin’s most potent front-engine powertrain yet. The 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 unleashes 1000Nm from 2500rpm, maintaining peak torque up to 5000rpm to keep the acceleration pumping. Power is sent to the rear wheels through an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission integrated into the rear axle, which helps with weight distribution. Further enhancing its dynamics, the Vanquish Volante features an electronic rear differential (E-Diff) capable of quick adjustments to optimise traction and cornering agility.

The chassis has been reworked, with increased lateral stiffness and a bespoke suspension tune to deliver the same handling characteristics as its Coupe counterpart. Newly developed Bilstein DTX dampers enhance ride quality across different drive modes, ranging from refined grand touring comfort in GT mode to added responsiveness in Sport+.
Braking is handled by carbon ceramic discs as standard. Meanwhile, specially developed Pirelli P Zero tyres ensure optimal grip and performance across varying conditions.
A Masterpiece of Design?
AM reckons its new convertible manages to balance elegance with aggression. The design retains the signature cab-rearward stance, broad shoulders, and sculpted lines of the Coupe, complemented by a sleek K-fold soft top. This thermally insulated roof folds away in 14 seconds without disrupting the car’s flowing silhouette.
At the front, the signature vaned grille has been enlarged for improved cooling, flanked by new outer bumper vents that channel air into the wheel arches. The stance is accentuated by 21-inch forged wheels, while the quad-exhaust system ensures an appropriately ‘thunderous’ soundtrack, with an optional titanium system for those seeking even more audible drama.
Driver-Centric Luxury
Inside, the Vanquish Volante combines contemporary luxury with technology. The cabin is designed exclusively as a two-seater, with every detail crafted for an immersive driving experience. The dashboard houses a 10.25-inch Pure Black touchscreen infotainment system, paired with a digital driver’s display offering customisable configurations. For audiophiles, there’s a premium 15-speaker Bowers & Wilkins sound system.
There are a range of personalisation options available through Aston Martin’s bespoke ‘Q’ division. From unique leather stitching to carbon fibre trim elements, customers can tailor their Vanquish Volante to their exact preferences.
A Legacy Reborn
The Vanquish Volante is the latest chapter in Aston Martin’s long history of open-top grand tourers, a lineage that dates back to the 1965 Short Chassis Volante. Over the past six decades, the Volante name has become synonymous with the brand’s most desirable convertibles, gracing everything from the DB6 to the modern DB12.
First deliveries are scheduled for Q3 2025, with Aston Martin saying it will make 1000 units a year.
