Nissan has pulled the covers off the all-new Navara at the global launch in Adelaide this evening.
Set to hit showroom floors across New Zealand in early 2026, this new model will arrive on the 40th anniversary of the Navara.

Built on an Alliance Platform (Renault–Nissan–Mitsubishi Alliance), this new Navara is familiar in more ways than one, but Nissan Australia is confident that it is far more than a re-skinned Mitsubishi Triton.
Most of the differentiation here comes from the brand’s suspension work with Australian outfit Premcar, which it has dealt with on the Navara Warrior program since 2019.
Nissan also used this opportunity to preview a new Navara PRO-4X Warrior Concept, based on this new D27 model.

According to Premcar CEO Bernie Quinn, over 12 months of work has gone into getting the suspension system of this Navara just right, which included covering more than 18,000km of Australia’s toughest terrain.
Speaking of suspension, it makes use of the same leaf spring system at the rear as the Triton. This is significant as the D23 Navara featured a coil sprung rear end.
Beneath the bonnet is a 2.4-litre bi-turbo diesel four-cylinder engine, which makes 150kW and 470Nm of torque. This is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, and buyers will reportedly get the choice of two four-wheel drive systems.

The first is an “Easy 4WD” system that will be able to switch between two and four-wheel drive automatically. Higher grades such as the ST-X and PRO-4X will be getting a “Super 4WD” system that offers full-time four-wheel drive, with an open centre differential.
While full specifications are yet to be released for all models, we know that the popular ST-X grade will be getting a black sports bar, black 17-inch wheels with all-terrain tyres and a tow bar.
On the inside, the Navara makes use of a 9.0-inch infotainment display with wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto. ST-X and PRO-4X grades will also get a wireless smartphone charger.

A 7.0-inch tft display sits between a pair of analog gauges, and for the first time, the Navara will be offered with connected services through the Nissan app.
It will be able to tow up to 3.5-tonnes braked, and the payload seems to have stayed around the 1-tonne mark.
As mentioned, us Kiwis can expect to see this new Navara landing on our shores in early 2026, full pricing and specifications expected to be revealed closer to launch.
