The next-generation Nissan Navara is set to arrive in New Zealand in March 2026.
While Nissan hasn’t released full technical specifications, the upcoming Navara is widely expected to share platform elements with the latest Mitsubishi Triton, reflecting closer ties between the two brands under the Renault–Nissan–Mitsubishi Alliance.
But in the meantime, the current Navara is going well with sales up thanks to greatly reduced pricing. Nissan NZ is therefore working on a carefully managed run-out strategy for the model.

Nissan Oceania Managing Director Andrew Humberstone says the company has worked closely with its dealer network to secure extra stock of the outgoing Navara, following a stronger-than-expected surge in demand.

“What we’ve seen here is a ramp up in sales which has meant, oh goodness, we need to get more allocation — which we managed to do,” Humberstone said during a recent media event in Auckland.
But Humberstone said careful stock management is essential as the brand transitions to the new model.

“We won’t have parallel production of two variants — old and new — so it’s about making sure you’ve got the right level of stock,” he explained.
“We want to ensure we protect the customer that bought last month and the month before because that for us is really important in terms of retention.”
