The 2026 Hyundai Palisade turned up at the New York International Auto Show, showcasing a new design, and uprated performance, comfort, style and technology.Â

The redesigned Palisade aims to solidify Hyundai’s presence in the competitive large SUV segment. Despite its age, last year saw record sales of the outgoing model in North America.

The new model showcases new exterior styling, an upgraded and roomier interior and, for the first time, a hybrid powertrain alongside its 3.5-litre V6 engine.

The new Palisade has a bluff look up front with vertical LED daytime running lights, a wider grille, and improved aerodynamics (Cd 0.31).
A longer wheelbase and body mean more cabin space, and that’s particularly evident in the third-row seating. Large alloy wheels and an impressive glasshouse emphasize the SUV’s presence. Inside, the design is both functional and upmarket, with soft-touch materials, dual 12.3-inch digital displays, and optional Relaxation Seats that offer extended recline and leg support. Tech features include wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a 14-speaker Bose audio system, and a built-in dash cam.

Comfort and convenience items include power-adjustable second- and third-row seating, heating and ventilation in all rows, and numerous USB-C ports throughout to cater for modern families. Safety runs to ten airbags and a suite of advanced driver-assistance systems such as Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, BSM, ACC, and Hyundai’s SmartSense features. New additions include UV-C sterilisation storage and a digital rearview mirror.

A hybrid model joins the line-up, delivering 245kW of power and 460Nm of torque. Touring range is almost 1000km. ICE power offers braked tow capacity of 2260kg, while the hybrid can haul 1814kg braked. Terrain modes include Mud, Sand and Snow.

For those contemplating off-road antics, Hyundai offers the XRT PRO trim. That comes with an electronic rear limited-slip differential, increased ground clearance, all-terrain tyres, recovery hooks, and off-road design elements. It is said to be Hyundai’s most capable off-road SUV yet.
The Palisade also introduces Hyundai’s latest Bluelink connected services, wireless over-the-air updates, Wi-Fi hotspot, and Hyundai Pay in-car payment system.

Palisade will come in ten exterior shades and a variety of interior finishes, including Nappa leather.
Production will take place in Ulsan, South Korea. ICE power models first, followed by the hybrid.
