Mini Aceman priced for New Zealand
Mini will have the first of its Aceman models on sale in New Zealand later in the year.
The Aceman is Mini’s all-electric model, in that you can’t get it with ICE power.
How much is the Mini Aceman in New Zealand?
The Aceman E will be $63,990 while the more powerful SE (sports electric) will be $69,990.
Each comes standard with the likes of adaptive cruise control, parking assistant plus, an interior camera, augmented reality navigation, and a panoramic glass roof.
What is the range of the Mini Aceman?
Essentially the difference between the two models relates to the powertrain. The E gets a 135kW/290Nm motor and a 38.5kWh battery (net), which delivers a 310 km range.
The SE has a 160kW/330Nm and gets a 49.2kWh battery (net) delivering up to 406km.
The DC fast charge rate is 75kW although the SE can take on 95kW. Mini says a 10 to 80 per cent charge takes around half an hour for both. With an 11kW AC on-board charger, the SE takes around 5.5 hours to charge when flat using a wall box.
How big is the Mini Aceman exactly?
It measures just over 4m long, so it’s still a Mini in the grand scheme of things, while being 1754mm wide, 1514mm tall with a wheelbase of 2606mm. Luggage space is quoted at 300L, expanding out to 1,005.
Inside is Mini’s 240mm round OLED central display while the Aceman’s interior is said to be ‘proud to be 100% leather free.’ Mini also says that a recycling theme is evident through the interior with “the surfaces, vehicle floor and floor mats all made from at least 90 percent recycled polyester”. It’s said that the use of this material, and the ditching of the leather, sees production greenhouse emissions reduce by up to 98 per cent.
