When the word “Multipla” is said, most think of the rather interesting looking compact MPV produced by Fiat between 1998 and 2010.
Few are aware that the Italian brand was building the Multipla long before this machine came along, with the original also wearing an interesting exterior aesthetic.

Produced from 1956 to 1967, the original Fiat 600 Multipla was a four-door, six-seat MPV, powered by a 15kW 1.0-litre engine.
Over 250,000 units were sold across the world in this time, but only 100 of these were built in right-hand drive, which brings us to the one offered in the upcoming Webb’s auction.

Set to be sold on Sunday as part of the Collectors’ Cars, Motorcycles & Automobilia December auction, this Multipla was delivered to New Zealand back in 1960.
It has since undergone a full restoration, and has a touch over 6,000 miles on the odometer. Webbs estimates it will sell for between $50,000 and $60,000 when the hammer drops.

Aside from the Multipla, there are a bunch of other notable classics going under the hammer this weekend.
These include a 1969 Mercedes-Benz 280SL ‘Pagoda’, with 80,196 miles. Its auction estimate sits between $325,000 – $350,000.

There’s also a 1973 Porsche 911E Targa, a 1971 Alfa Romeo GT Junior, a 1957 Jaguar XK140 FHC, and a 1973 Jaguar E-Type Series III headlining the auction.
Motorsport memorabilia includes Mika Hakkinen’s 1998 Formula 1 West-McLaren Test Worn Suit, and a Racing Bulls polo signed by Liam Lawson and Fred Vausser.
