Ford to reveal all-new road-going sports car early next year

by Andrew Sluys
November 12, 2025

Ford Racing has announced it will be unveiling an all-new sports car in early 2026.

Set to be revealed at the F1 team’s launch on January 15, not much is known about this new model other than it’s going to be road-going, so not a track-only special.

Speaking on the project, Ford Racing chief Mark Rushbrook said how it was “a testament to how deeply we’re integrating our racing innovation into the vehicles you drive every day”.

This production car is set to be the first collaboration project between the renewed Ford Performance brand and the company’s race-focused motorsport division.

At this stage, it’s anyone’s guess as to what this model will be, but Ford CEO Jim Farley has been talking about a Ranger Raptor that reflects the brand’s Dakar Rally entry.

A high-performance ute like this could pack up to 1000hp (735kW), with Farley previously dropping hints by saying: “No one has ever built a supercar for gravel, high-speed sand, dirt.”

Another rumour that’s being thrown around points to an even more extreme version of the Mustang GTD.

Recently, a GTD with updated aero was spotted testing at the Nürburgring Nordschleife. This likely means Ford is looking to bring the fight to Chevrolet’s Corvette ZR1, which managed to lap the iconic track in 6:50.763.

Considering Ford has described it as an “all-new” model in its F1 release, it’s likely that it won’t be a special edition of an existing car, and hopefully a bit cheaper than the GTD, which retailed in the US for USD$330,000.
