Kia’s all-new EV2 hatch will be unveiled at the Brussels Motor Show on January 9, 2026.
Set to go up against the likes of the BYD Atto 1 and Dongfeng Box, this little electric EV2 will represent the entry-point to emissions-free motoring in Kia’s line-up.

Kia teased this new model through a set of photos that don’t reveal much, other than the fact that this EV2 will wear the same squared-off styling as the EV3, EV5, and large EV9.
The other details shown included the light signatures, which look to sit quite low in the front and rear fascias, in similar style to the Hyundai Santa Fe.

The design looks reminiscent of the latest Kia Picanto, which was offered exclusively with petrol power.
Specific details surrounding the EV2’s powertrain remain a mystery, but it has been confirmed to make use of Kia’s modular E-GMP architecture.

In saying this, it’s expected to fall in a similar region to the EV3, which gets around 430km (WLTP) off a charge from the smaller 58kWh battery offered. The same goes for the 150kW motor on the front axle of the EV3.
It’s rumoured to be a similar story on the inside of the EV2, with a 12.3-inch digital cluster, and a 12.3-inch infotainment display carrying over.

“With the EV2, we reaffirm our commitment to make electric mobility truly accessible to a broader audience – without compromise,” said Marc Hedrich, President & CEO of Kia Europe.
Alongside this all-new EV2, Kia also plans to show off GT versions of the EV3, the EV4 Hatchback, and the EV5 at the motor show.
