Mayor of London announces van scrappage
Pre-Euro6 vans owned by small businesses will be eligible for a van scrappage scheme as London tries to curb its traffic emissions.
Businesses employing 10 people or fewer will be good-to-go for the scheme, which is being introduced in preparation for April’s Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ). This will see all pre-Euro 6 vans (and cars) pay £12.50 to enter the Congestion Charge Zone, which is on top of the standard £11.50 Congestion Charge.
Those taking advantage of the scheme will be able to part-trade their pre-Euro 6 vans (typically those made before 2015) for compliant vehicles.Details are yet to be announced but thousands of small businesses are said to benefit.
