LDV reveals new small electric van
LDV used the Commercial Vehicle Show in Birmingham to reveal its new EV30 small electric van.
The EV30 is built in China, coming in two wheelbase variants, short and long. Range is a claimed 321km (200 miles) with a 53kWh battery fitted. There will be a cheaper 35kWh variant as well, with just over 200km of range. In terms of size, it’s a direct rival to vans like the Renault Kangoo ZE and Nissan e-NV200.
A lithium-ion power pack is used, with fast charging juicing the batter up in as little as 45 minutes, while an AC charge can take 5 hours.
Power comes from an 85kW electric motor and cargo capacity is 5 cubic metres for the short wheelbase version or 6 in the long. Payloads are 600kg and one tonne respectively.
We haven’t had confirmation of local pricing but British buyers can expect to fork out £22,000.
