
Kiwi ute market continues to grow
The new ute market continues to grow as year to date figures show healthy increases in new vehicle registrations for the 4x2 and 4x4 Pick up chassis cab segments.
Year to date the 4x4 segment continues to lead the market with 22,304 new vehicles registered up from 20,683 in the previous corresponding period.
Registrations in the 4x2 segment have increased from 13,731 units in November 2017 to 14,037 in November 2018.
The market leading Ford Ranger has seen 5980 new 4x4 vehicles registered so far this year and 3308 new 4x2 vehicles.
In second place on both charts, the Toyota Hilux has seen 4430 new 4x4 vehicles registered so far this year and 3061 new 4x2 vehicles.
The model sales mix of brands then gets interesting. The Mitsubishi Triton holds third place on the 4x4 registration chart with 2461 new vehicle registrations followed by the fourth placed Holden Colorado with 2413 registrations and the Isuzu D-Max in fifth with 1559 registrations.
On the 4x2 table the Holden Colorado takes third place with 1938 new vehicle registrations, followed by the fourth placed Nissan Navara with 1932 registrations and the Mitsubishi Triton in fifth place with 1858 registrations.
