Hyundai will be conducting a trial of hydrogen-fuelled trucks in Israel in 2020, according to sources close to the matter.

The test will be executed by Israeli retailer Colmobil and transportation and logistics company Taavura Holdings, which owns the largest local fleet of trucks.

The trial follows Hyundai’s introduction of a hydrogen truck in Europe, which has a claimed range of 400km.

Interestingly, the source said Hyundai will start using hydrogen trucks in Switzerland and New Zealand next year. We’ve asked Hyundai NZ if there’s any more information about this. An FCEV truck operating in New Zealand would do wonders for the fledgeling local hydrogen fuel market. That is if there’s any infrastructure to refuel it.
