Ford captured the commercial market gong for 2019
Ford came out on top in the light commercial sector, beating out Toyota and Mitsubishi for the lead in December.
The ute/van market was down for a third consecutive month, with a total of 3001 registrations for December, 13.5 per cent (469 units) below the December 2018 total.
Toyota led monthly proceedings with 23 per cent market share (677 units) followed by Ford with 18 per cent (549 units) and Mitsubishi third on 11 per cent (338 units).
For the entire year, the same trio were headlining, only Ford led the way this time with 21 per cent market share, Toyota came home second with 19 per cent and Mitsubishi followed on 11 per cent.
The Ford Ranger retained the top spot as the best-selling light commercial model with 16 per cent share for December (473 units) followed by the Toyota Hilux with 15 per cent share (461 units) and the Mitsubishi Triton in third place with 11 per cent market share (338 units).
For the year, the Ford Ranger was comfortably the market leader with 19 per cent market share (9485 units) followed by the Toyota Hilux on 14 per cent (7126 units) with the Mitsubishi Triton in third with 11 per cent share (5319 units).
