A.P. Eagers has taken over Automotive Holdings Group, making the combined company the largest car dealership company in Australia.

It will have over 200 car outlets across the country, along with 13 in New Zealand and 67 new truck and bus dealerships in Oz.

AP Eagers says the combined company will be more efficient through removing duplicated head office and corporate services costs, as well as AHG's costs associated with being a listed company on the ASX.

Dealerships in New Zealand include John Andrew Ford and Mazda, The Ford Store on Wairau Rd, North Harbour Ford and Mazda as well as Davie Motors Holden and HSV, Manukau Nissan and Hyundai and West Auckland Nissan.
