Vespa marks 75 years with two special models
To mark being in business for three-quarters of a century, Vespa is producing a couple of 75th anniversary models, the Primavera 150 and GTS 300. Both bikes have special finishes, a new saddle and a chrome-plated luggage rack.
Since April 23, 1946, Vespa has produced retro-fashionable scooters, and has become an iconic brand, a symbol of modern living, an example of Italian style and technology. It has sold nigh on 20 million vehicles since its inauguration, almost two million of those in the past decade.
Both of the 75th models will be in production by mid-year and will only be produced for 2021.
The body, all-steel, is presented in "Giallo 75th", a metallic yellow colour. Harking back to hues that were fashionable in the 1940s, the colour evokes the heritage, spirit and fashion-loving style of the Vespa.
The side panels and front mudguard display the number 75 which is repeated on the front of the scooter.
Other special features include a nubuck leather saddle with edging in grey, wheel rims painted in grey and a host of chrome-plated detailing. This includes the rear luggage rack and it holds a round leather bag that clips easily to the rack.
There’s also a 4.3" TFT colour display, linking to your smartphone via Vespa’s MIA app. The Vespa 75th is identified with a plate behind the leg shield.
