According to a report by Autocar UK, Porsche CEO Oliver Blume confirmed that a hybrid version of the 992-generation 911 is in the works – and it’s going to be “very powerful”.

This however, contradicts an earlier story from March when Frank-Steffen Walliser, boss of the 911 range, commented that the 911 would be the last Porsche to be electrified. His position on the matter is such that he “will fight to let the 911 keep its gasoline engine”.

Rumors regarding a hybrid 911 were made as early as 2018, when the 992-generation of the car was first revealed. It was reported that the car was developed with electric motors in mind but then a later story contradicted this by stating the current battery technologies were insufficient for a hybrid 911.
