Tesla drops New Zealand pricing
Tesla has updated local pricing on the Model S and Model X, with drops across the board.
The total price cut will depend on final spec chosen by the customer but now Kiwi buyers can get a Tesla key for as low as $137,120 before incentives.
"With these updates, we’ve taken a significant step towards allowing everyone to buy a Tesla, and accelerating the transition to sustainable transportation," said the firm in a statement.
The brand has ditched its traditional naming scheme of numbers representing the battery size (75, 100 etc), instead just saying the range of the car. For example, the Model S now comes in Standard Range and Long Range, with a Ludicrous Performance version on top.
The new pricing is as follows:
Standard Range (520km) from $137,120
Long Range (632km) starts at $144,120
Ludicrious Performance (613km, 0-100kph in 2.6s) from $165,420
Long Range (565km) starts at $152,220
Ludicrous Performance (542km, 0-100kph in 3.0s) from $172,820
