Take a lap of the Nürburgring in the new BMW Z4
The new Z4 isn’t exactly out to get Nürburgring lap times but a lap time of 7:55.41 puts it quicker than the M2 by about three seconds.
The model in the video above is a still-camouflaged M40i, the best of the Z4 range. It features a turbocharged straight-six, good for around 250kW in European trim. The American version will allegedly have up to 284kW thanks to comparatively more lenient emissions regulations.
It also bears to mention the Z4 is geared towards comfort and luxury over out-and-out sports performance like the M2 or M2 Competition. BMW has previously stated it is not interested in building a Z4 M but previous iterations of the roadster have featured an M version.
