Subaru of NZ has set an all-time sales record in 2018, selling 3632 units over the year.

That’s an increase of 8.8 per cent on 2017 (3338 units sold) and represents the seventh year of consecutive growth for the brand.

While the number might seem small on the outset, Subaru NZ is one of the top performing distributors worldwide. In fact, the local arm out-performs Subaru in the United Kingdom.

Subaru’s Outback continues as the number one seller, accounting for 36.5 per cent of sales. The XV has also performed well in its first full year of sales, up 78.5 per cent versus 2017, and the recently-updated Forester tripled sales in its first full month on the market. It launched in August last year and by December sales were up 18.4 per cent year-on-year.

“With our country’s geography creating almost perfect All-Wheel Drive conditions, it’s little wonder they call New Zealand Subaru Country! We hope to help more Kiwis discover why it’s as if Subarus were made especially for New Zealand in 2019,” said Subaru managing director Wallis Dumper.
