Skoda reveals Kodiaq RS pricing
Skoda New Zealand has announced pricing for the Kodiaq RS, with the first units dotting down about now.
The first Skoda SUV to wear the RS badge features a 176kW/500Nm biturbo diesel engine, enough to hit 100km/h in seven seconds flat, and onwards to a top speed of 220km/h. Fuel consumption is rated at 6.0L/100km, downright frugal for an RS model.
Uprated brakes front and rear with RS-specific twin-piston calipers in red should bring everything to a safe stop.
Skoda’s RS engineers developed specific suspension and drivetrain settings for the hot Kodiaq. This RS configuration offers several drive modes that change both the stiffness of the shock absorbers and other vehicle settings to create a “powerful and engaging driving experience.”
Bigger 20-inch alloys, redesigned front and rear bumpers, and a gloss black finish for the grille, wing mirrors, window frames and roof rails set the RS apart. The interior features a customisable digital instrument display, and a flat-bottomed leather-clad steering wheel.
Mention of which, the Kodiaq RS comes with variable ratio ‘progressive steering’ that supposedly quickens handling and agility. There are also red stitching, stainless pedals, and faux carbon dash inserts.
Pricing starts at $71,990 plus on-roads. You can reserve yours online for a refundable $300 while the first units have just been released to buyers who have already put their names down.
