RTR unleashes modified Ranger
RTR, the tuning company of professional drifter Vaughn Gittin Jr., is responsible for making some of the more bonkers Mustangs this side of Gittin’s drift car. Now it has turned its attention to the dirt. Specifically, to the Ford Ranger.
Immediately noticeable is RTR’s trademark LED light signature on the grille. Peer closer and you’ll see new fender flares, functional intake vents for the engine sitting over the front pair, an RTR graphics package at the rear and 17-inch RTR wheels. Optional extras include a leather interior and an RTR grille with an LED light bar.
As for performance, the standard Ranger suspension has been swapped for a Fox 2.0 coilover set-up and there’s a Ford Performance cat-back exhaust system. RTR doesn’t say if there’s any more power, though. Mention of which, the RTR Ranger is motivated by a 2.3-litre petrol EcoBoost engine making 201kW/420Nm.
The RTR Ranger is currently only destined for US buyers, with local agents CTB telling us there aren’t any plans to bring the ute here. We’ll just have to make do with our Ranger Raptor instead.
