Peugeot on top in UK dependability survey
The annual JD Power UK Vehicle Dependability Study has found the Peugeot brand to be the maker of the most reliable vehicles with the least amount of problems experienced by owners.
Mark Lendrich, head of research at JD Power Europe, said: “Long-term reliability has a direct impact on today’s sales and tomorrow’s brand loyalty. Peugeot did a great job in understanding the needs of its consumers, and therefore deserves to win the JD Power award for UK’s most dependable brand 2019.”
The study, which is based on the responses of 11,530 owners of new cars registered from November 2015 to January 2018, measures the number of problems experienced per 100 vehicles (PP100), with a lower score indicating better performance.
Peugeot came out on top with a score of 77, while the industry average was 119. Skoda was second with a score of 88, followed by Hyundai on 90. BMW was at the wrong end of the list on 181 problems, Fiat amassed 173 and Audi registered 167.
