Nissan Leaf Nismo confirmed for production
Nissan has announced the Leaf Nismo will go on sale at the end of July… in Japan only.
The ‘hotted-up’ Leaf made its initial debut at the Tokyo Motor Show last year, sporting a chunkier front bumper, and an added red spoiler lip. Bigger mesh pieces can be found on the trim and the trapezoidal LED clusters are replaced by horizontal units.
The ride height has been slightly dropped and performance rubber added to give the Nismo Leaf a tasty looking profile. An aggressive diffuser and centre-mounted fog light at the rear round off the look.
Inside not much has changed. The red accents around the air vents and red stitching on the upholstery are new, as is the 'Nismo' starter button, but other than that, there’s not much else to report.
Nissan says the concept will provide "delicate but strong acceleration response" thanks to a "custom-tuned computer."
Nissan’s plans for the Leaf Nismo don’t extend any further than the Japanese Domestic Market, but we guess they’ll find their way here eventually.
