“Meet Mercedes Digital” is a new online communications platform the company will use on a regular basis to share details about future products and business news.

The first episode aired today with Mercedes reporter Yasmine Blair as host and Daimler CEO Ola Källenius as the guest. It was during this interview that Källenius provided more details on the forthcoming S-Class W223, including a reveal of the frontal design. It appears that the front end won’t differ greatly from that of the outgoing model, though it will adopt a more modern look, taking cues from the CLS and E-Class facelifts.

Källenius called the new S-Class a “technological tour de force” and he took the opportunity to drive the pre-production version at high speeds on the Autobahn. He mentioned being impressed with its refinement, saying it was a “very serene and quiet ride”. He went on to say “the predecessor set the bar high but the new S-Class will be special.”

The S-Class is expected to be revealed in the second half of 2020. Källenius also confirmed its electric counterpart will be launched in 2021 as the EQS.
