Following the work interruption caused by the coronavirus pandemic, Mercedes-Benz has resumed production at its German plant, and marked the occasion with a new video.

The parent company - Daimler AG – had announced the brand’s return through a video that demonstrated the new guidelines laid out in the manufacturing plants, including the use of face masks and social distancing. Also shown in the video was a teaser of the new Mercedes S-Class, albeit under wraps.

Earlier today, images of the actual car were leaked online. The photos show the exterior to remain largely familiar, save for the bigger Panamericana grille. At the back there are CLS design cues, though the S-Class rear fascia differs with the metallic trim across the boot lid. The interior images show the infotainment screen in a portrait orientation, as well as quilted seats and a rear entertainment set-up.

The new S-Class is expected to be revealed in the coming months.
