Mazda SkyActiv-X engine specs leaked
Mazda will drop its SkyActiv-X engine into the 2019 Mazda3. While we’ve known for a while the X engine uses a new combustion process that essentially blends the best of diesel and petrol, performance specs have not yet been divulged.
That is, until someone at Mazda Slovakia stuffed up. A Mazda3 brochure was uploaded to the local website, confirming the SkyActiv-X engine will offer 133kW and 222Nm. In that market, it will be available on the high-end GT and GT Plus trims, both grades being available with a manual or automatic gearbox.
Prices, for those interested, start at 23,190 euros (which gets you a front- wheel drive sedan or hatchback with a manual gearbox) while the automatic/all-wheel drive hatch sets Slovakian buyers back by 29,290 euros.
The new Mazda3 is due here midway through 2019, with local pricing and final specifications to be confirmed closer to launch.
