John Cooper Works Mini Hardtop and Convertible debut
The JCW Mini has been given a mid-cycle update, affecting both Hardtop and Convertible forms.
There isn’t much to report on the performance front, with the JCW-spec turbocharged four-pot still making 170kW and 319Nm. Output is sent through either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic transmission. Whichever gearbox you choose, 0-100km/h happens in roughly six seconds. If you opt for the soft-top, add around 0.3 seconds to that.
Mini has included a particulate filter to the exhaust system to improve emissions which they say has zero impact on performance or its "distinctively sporty sound".
Elsewhere are the new Union Jack taillights, high-gloss headlights, and Mini logo puddle lamps.
Inside, there’s a wireless charging pad and updates to the infotainment system. Buyers can also option piano black trim pieces with LED back-lit accents and new JCW bucket sports seats.Local pricing hasn’t been announced yet but orders will begin early next year.
