Jeep has posted an image showing part of its Wrangler, and included in the shot is a bulbous bonnet complete with a 392 badge.

FCA brands have been going bananas recently, dropping big V8s in its vehicles such as the recently released Dodge Durango Hellcat and madeover Challenger with the Super Stock boasting 807hp.

In what looks like a possible spoiler for the upcoming Ford Bronco release, Jeep is hinting the Wrangler and possibly the Gladiator will soon be available with V8 power. The 392 refers to the 6.4-litre V8 which makes 361kW and 644Nm. It should see the Wrangler ace the Rubicon in record time. With that amount of horsepower, it should also prove exciting in the mud.

The Bronco is about to debut soon, and will feature boosted V6 power, so Jeep’s Hemi-powered Wrangler will be the perfect antidote to Ford’s reborn threat.
