Jaguar reveals facelifted F-Type
Jaguar dropped a bomb this morning with the debut of the 2021 F-Type, featuring a slick new face and a more powerful V8.
For 2021 the F-Type the 2.0-litre turbocharged four-banger and 3.0-litre supercharged V6 remain unchanged while the 5.0-litre supercharged V8 has had some fettling to unleash a little extra power and torque. The range-topping R variant now boasts 427kW/700Nm allowing it to hit 100km/h in 3.7 seconds before topping out at a limited 300km/h. All models now feature switchable active exhaust systems. The R also gets revised suspension, including adaptive dampers, updated springs, tweaked anti-roll bars, and stiffer rear knuckles and ball joints. Factor in a crisper Quickshift automatic transmission, refined with knowledge gained from the XE SV Project 8, and the F-Type R is shaping up to be a real ripper of a thing. There aren’t any mentions of a manual option thus far.
Inside the new F-Type are more refinements, with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster taking over duties from the analogue gauges. The infotainment system has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality as standard and can be updated over-the-air.
New Zealand pricing and availability is yet to be announced.
