Jack Roush Mustang lands with face-melting power
Roush Performance has revealed the Jack Roush Mustang, which sports many a vent and more power than the Ford Shelby GT500.
The engine is a significantly worked version of the 5.0-litre V8 found in the regular Mustang GT, rocking a Roush Phase 3 TVS R2650 Eaton supercharger among other things. Power is ramped up to 578kW with 908Nm of torque and a new Roush active exhaust system lets your neighbours know exactly when you’re leaving in the morning. Upgrades to the cooling system are visible through the grille and keep that burbling V8’s temperature in check.
Suspending each corner is a custom MagneRide system with lowered springs, while upgraded Brembo brakes should make it stop okay.
The body has been upgraded with an R9 Aero package which gets a tweaked lower grille, chin spoiler, fender vents, heat extractors in the bonnet and a Roush blackout panel on the bootlid. In case you missed it, there’s also an XL carbon spoiler, which has active aero capability.
Buyers can also ask for the Competition Pack which adds lightweight wheels, track-ready rubber and a track day toolbox. We’re not sure what comes in the toolbox but it’ll probably come in handy sooner or later.
Just 70 units will be built, ten of which will be exported across the world. Price isn’t available yet but expect to pay top dollar for the top Roush.
