HSV confirms Camaro ZL1 price and power
HSV is in the final stages of readying its right-hook ZL1 and has revealed the maximum power and torque figures for the muscle car.
The company has confirmed the ZL1’s supercharged 6.2 litre V8 will output a meaty 447kW at 6400rpm and 881Nm at 3600rpm, something HSV’s managing director Tim Jackson called “inspirational”.
No other performance figures were revealed but we know the ZL1 will come with both manual and automatic options. The six-speed manual will get active rev matching and launch control while the ten-speed auto will also come with launch control as well as line-lock (burnout mode). All versions get a bi-modal performance exhaust system.
Suspension will be of the magnetic adaptive type while an electronically controlled limited-slip differential will help control the power. Brembo six-piston brakes clamping on 390mm front rotors provide stopping power.
Inside are Recaro performance seats, a suede flat-bottom sports steering wheel and gear shifter, as well as alloy pedals.
Price will start at $NZ173,990 for the manual variant, with the automatic gearbox tacking an extra $2k on the final price.
