The president of General Motors has confirmed the American giant is actively working on an electric pick-up truck as part of its “complete electric line-up.”

Mark Reuss revealed the news during the recent UBS Global Industrials and Transportation Conference. He also said that GM’s third-generation global EV platform will accommodate nearly 10 different body styles including front-, rear-, and all-wheel drive but didn’t say if one of those would be the truck.

He also refused to be drawn on its name, leading to speculation that it could be branded differently to the existing Silverado and Colorado pick-ups.

GM will join the likes of Ford, Tesla and Rivian in the upcoming electric truck wars. Ford will have at least two offerings on the market, one being a collaboration with Rivian, while Tesla’s Elon Musk has made some extravagant claims on the capabilities of the Tesla truck. You can read all about those right here.
