Ford NZ confirms Everest Sport arriving next year
Ford New Zealand will bring another Everest model, the Sport, to local roads next January.
The Everest Sport adds exclusive colours, a black mesh grille, ‘Everest’ bonnet lettering, 20-inch alloys and more powerful bi-LED headlight system to the regular Everest kit. That includes the standard suite of driver-assist technology with AEB, active cruise control, lane keep assist, a driver alert system and traffic sign recognition.
Power still comes from the 2.0L bi-turbodiesel engine, offering 157kW/500Nm. It is attached to a 10-speed automatic. The claimed mean fuel economy figure for the Everest Sport is 7.0L/100km while the braked towing capacity is 3100kg.
The new Everest addition also has a water-wading figure of 800mm, with 227mm of ground clearance, and 29.5- and 25.0-degree approach and departure angles, just in case you wanted to go off-road. As with other Everest models, the Sport gets a full five-star ANCAP safety rating.
The new model sits below the Titanium in the local line-up, starting at $73,990, $6k less than the range topper.
