Ford NZ announces Mustang RTR Series 1
Ford NZ has released details of a limited edition Mustang RTR Series 1, featuring development input from world champion drifter Vaughn Gittin Jr.
Vaughn and his RTR Vehicles team worked with Ford Performance on a new Series 1 Mustang RTR. This Mustang GT focuses on precise street performance, agility on the track as well as a driver-centric experience.
“Our goal was to take the driving and owner experience of the iconic Ford Mustang to the next level,” said Gittin Jr, president of RTR Vehicles. “This collaboration has created a Mustang that offers smile-inducing street driving, diverse capability on the track and a distinctive owner experience for those looking to stand out from the crowd.”
Some hardware tweaks include adjustable sway bars, a 25mm ride height reduction, a staggered wheel and tyre package with a 19 x 9.5-inch front and 19 x 10-inch rear, an RTR Gurney flap and RTR grille, along with lighting, body and aerodynamics packages. Additionally, the model has RTR fender badges, floor mats and puddle lamps, as well as deck trim panel badging and a custom radiator cover badge.
Power is the same as the standard GT, meaning 339kW/556Nm. Just 25 units will be offered, starting at $89,990 plus ORCs. Colour options include Ingot Silver, Race Red, Oxford White and Magnetic. Sales kick off in November but Ford dealers are taking orders now.
