Big Boys Toys announces Chinese show for 2020
New Zealand’s Big Boys Toys event (BBT) has announced it will rock the People’s Republic of China at the dawn of next decade.
Representatives from Shanghai-based show organisers Yuppy Ad have signed an agreement with BBT during a visit to New Zealand to host a show in China in October 2020.
News of the deal was broken at the VIP launch for this weekend’s Big Boys Toys show.
The Shanghai version of Big Boys Toys will have eight areas catering for cars, motorcycles, sports, video games, health, and more. New Zealand products are expected to have pride of place as well.
It will run over three to five days around the Chinese national day holiday, October 1-7.
The idea to bring BBT to Shanghai actually came from Yuppy staff member Yanni Shi, who had been to the show while studying in Auckland. She also knew Calvin Yu, general manager of MFY Creative, who is helping bring the show to China.
“It’s very exciting,” BBT event director Dean Wilson.
He says he’s very proud the show has been selected.
“It’s a great chance for Kiwi companies to promote themselves in China, and some reciprocal arrangements are likely,” says Wilson.
