Baleno gets free update for new model year
The Suzuki Baleno hatchback, comprising GLX and the more popular RS, has received added kit for the 2020 model year, all at no price increase.
Externally there are three new colours, a fresh grille and reshaped front bumper while inside the seat upholstery gets an upgrade. Both get NVH upgrades. The RS adds LED projector headlamps and restyled alloys.
Baleno rides on the same platform as Swift but is larger for those who need more space in the cabin while the hatch holds 355L (Swift 242L). Safety equipment runs to six airbags, ESP, ABS, EBD, BA and a reversing camera.
Other standard features include headlamp levelling and auto-on lights, leather-bound multifunction wheel, and seven-inch touchscreen with inbuilt satellite navigation and smartphone compatibility.
RS adds climate air, four-way steering column adjustment and paddle shifters. It runs an 82kW 1.0L three-pot turbopetrol mated with a six-speed auto while the GLX gets a 68kW atmo 1.4 four-cylinder engine. Both sport combined fuel figures in the low 5s.
Baleno GLX five-speed manual goes for $21,990 while for two grand more you get one gear less in the automatic version. RS with six-speed auto costs $25,990. Suzuki has a no deposit finance offer available for Baleno.
